Tom Beckett General This area has changed so much since C-day. The main CR route was just behind you out of the picture, on the old Lehigh Valley alignment. The Jersey Cental was here, and had several passenger trains every day to Newark Penn Station(I rode here behind GP40P's, on ex Santa Fe long haul coaches), but was used as a freight route only if the LV was blocked after Conrail start up. The LV bridge over the Delaware was in bad shape, and CR realigned the Lehigh Line over the CNJ bridge, creating the scene here. Beautiful lighting of a colorful unit. Tom Beckett General BTW, the building beyond the bridge is the old CNJ station, which also served the DL&W, later EL, which connected here on the opposite side of the station. That line became CR's Washington Secondary, running to a connectin with the DLW Main via Hackettstown. I think a short line runs it now. 11/15/2019 2:32:53 AM
